1966, Taking off

Huile sur toile | Collection particulière

This is one of the first canvasses in which the new theme is the moon. To take off to this heavenly body an engine in the centre, represented  by a spiral winding round an axis, seems to drive ellipsoidal and rectangular shapes to the right-hand side of the space. The palette is softer and wider. Blues from very pale blue to dark blue, passing through mauve, enhance a poppy-red, set off by warm yellow, secondary colours, orange and green and a grey scratched with black lines. The whole range of colours is ready to take off to the moon.
