1963, Fugue n°2

Encre de Chine + gouache sur papier | Collection particulière

Here Indian ink and gouache are used for this fugue that, like Fugue n°3, with which it forms a diptych, expresses the joy and crystal-clear quality of the Cantor’s music. The three pure, bold primary colours are encircled within the frame drawn in Indian ink in large spaced out strokes which make the white of the paper shimmer. Black lines are scratching them in a fugue-like movement.
